I started writing programs at the age of twelve - my first program was written on a set of punch cards. Ever since my interests changed - going more and more professional. I had used by student homepage at the university to host some of the works but the were severe restrictions on the available disk space and network bandwidth for students. It was not easy to host bigger projects there.

Then we saw SourcForge to open free services for OpenSource projects in the 2000 including unlimited disk space and so I was one of the first to move in. No wonder my User-ID is an embarassing small number of ID 9321 - in contrast we find that the number of registered users crossed a million in 2005.

  • http:// sourceforge.net/users/guidod   - Developer Home

However, not all of these pages are related to pure sourcecode and application programs. It is about as equal important to write documentation with all sorts of information - apart from real software pages like PFE or ZZipLib I do receive quite a number of e-mails that related to the Autoconf Macro Archve or the "Largefile Problems" information center or the standardisation efforts in the im "comp.lang.forth repository".

  • http:// forth.sf.net/std/dpans     - Forth '92 Standard and Updates

In the meantime the situation has eased a lot about limitations of internet servers. Today I can even host software directly on my private webserver at home which makes it a bit easier to update the pages than it were ever before

Yet, my home servers are still in the making so do sure update the other sourceforge pages. Among those pages we have the mksite.sh tool which is also used to create the pages that you are currently looking at.

  • http:// freespace.sf.net/guidod   - assembling smaller projects of mine
